2. Student/teacher conference
3. Parent notification by student, and/or lunch detention
4. Parent Conference
5. Office Referral
Procedures
Bell Work: As you come into class each day, please take your seat and immediately start the bell work that is written on the board. If you finish before others, read your book.
Group Work: I will assign groups throughout the class and we will do fun activities that will allow everyone to collaborate and get to know each other. Please be respectful of your peers and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts and input during group work. Always do your own, original work. Never plagiarize.
Homework: Most of the class work will be done in the classroom, but it will vary from night to night and from student to student if they need to finish assignments at home. This time may increase if your child does not use class time wisely.
Turning in Papers: Any work that is collected in class will be handed to the person to your left. Names will be in order at the end of the row (closest to my desk). You must have your first and last name, class period, and subject in the upper right hand corner of your paper.
Notes: You are required to keep notes in a notebook (spiral, college-ruled) or in your binder in an organized manner. You do not need a separate binder for my class- just a section in your school folder that has notes in order by date. We will be doing our notes as Cornell Notes.
iPads: We have a class set of iPads to share. When we use them, be responsible. Do not take any pictures (especially selfies) or download any apps on them. If you do so, you will not be allowed to use them. When you turn them in at the end of class, please clear all tabs.
Clean-up: 5 minutes before end of class. All tables and chairs must be put back in place. Any supplies or class material that was used must be returned.
Release Time: I will excuse you from class. Do not leave when the bell rings and do not stand by the door. Stay in your assigned seat for dismissal after cleaning up your area.
Absent Work: Exchange contact information with a classmate and check my website for the work you missed. If you have questions when you return to school, see me before/after class.
Late Work Policy: Late work will be due by the following Monday it was assigned and is worth half credit. Work turned in late will be marked down 10% each day after the due date. It is the student’s responsibility to turn in their absent work in the appropriate place (in the black bin by my desk).
Neatness/Organization:
Being organized is one of the keys to success this year and in the future. Therefore, it is very important that students take the time to put all materials and assignments in the proper place. All students will be required to write their assignments in their binder reminder each day.
“NO NAMES” and illegible papers will not be accepted. There is a NO NAME bin and as they enter the room, students may check this bin for their papers up to one week. Also, paper with frayed/torn edges will not be accepted.
Students must have a proper heading in the upper right hand corner of the paper with a title.
Example: Last Name, First Name Smith, John
Date/Period 08/20/18
Period Per. 8
